Extreme Management Group, New York-Based Metal and Rock Artist Management Firm, Marks 20 Years Representing 90+ Acts Across Six Continents

Founded in 2006, Extreme Management Group helped shape the Extreme Metal genre and today operates across six continents with 15 managers supporting both established touring acts and developing talent.

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESS Newswire / May 5, 2026 / Extreme Management Group (EMG), a worldwide artist management firm headquartered in New York, is marking 20 years in business this year. What began as a single-band operation built around Long Island death metal pioneers, Suffocation, has evolved into a global company representing more than 90 acts, with a team of 15 managers and offices across North America, Europe/UK, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

In the firm’s early years, a branding concept came to life with the Extreme Metal framework that helped expand the commercial reach of Suffocation and a generation of bands working in adjacent styles. That early work laid the groundwork for what EMG has become: a management company whose identity is tied to genre-building as much as to individual artist campaigns.

While EMG represents established touring acts on a worldwide basis, covering ticketing, merchandising, publishing, booking agent and label relationships, the firm came to realize early on that there was a need to the industry where their experience would benefit up and coming younger generation artists. As a result of this, they developed the first of its kind artist development program, drawing on two decades of development that allow the organization to support emerging bands with the same infrastructure and contact network that serves the larger roster. EMG’s management team views the combination as central to the firm’s value proposition: developing acts sit alongside established ones under a single organizational umbrella, with access to the same booking agents, label relationships, endorsement contacts, and touring resources.

“After 20 years, the thing we are most proud of is how consistent the principles have been from day one,” as stated by one of the four managing partners at EMG. “Communication, accountability, results, transparency and long-term relationships with the artists we represent is key. Those are the reasons bands have stayed with us for a decade or more, and they are the reasons both established and developing artists keep finding their way to our roster.”

EMG’s management team is marking the milestone during one of the firm’s most active touring years to date, with multiple acts on the road across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia through the remainder of 2026. The company has also expanded its artist development work in recent years, a response to what EMG leadership describes as a growing appetite among emerging bands for professional representation earlier in their careers.

Throughout the years, EMG has represented both known and legendary metal acts including: Suffocation, Atheist, Cryptopsy, Soreption, Origin, Misery Index, Disgorge, Cattle Decapitation, Internal Bleeding, Visceral Disgorge, Decrepit Birth, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Krisiun, Aborted, amongst many others. Recognition has followed. One of EMG’s Canadian acts, Cryptopsy, won a Juno Award in 2024 in the Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year category and was nominated again in 2026.

EMG’s founding band, Suffocation, also received a highly anticipated, well-deserved induction into the Long Island Hall of Fame, where they share space with other inductees including Billy Joel, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Gene Simmons, The Ramones, Twisted Sister, Blue Oyster Cult + over 100 other legendary musical acts. Other acts on the roster have appeared on major festival bills, major label releases, and worldwide touring over the past 20 years.

EMG has historically operated without a significant public-facing profile due to their reputation in the industry and word-of-mouth bringing in new clients. The company’s focus for the year ahead, according to its management team, is continuing to support its touring roster and further building out the artist development program that now anchors an equal amount of its day-to-day work.
